A few days after the Khmer New Year, I was told that Sam Rainsy was in the DC area, on a long trip to visit Cambodian fellows in the East and the West Coasts of the United States and in Canada. On April 23rd 2008, a dinner/meeting gathered around 50 persons in a Chinese restaurant of Arlington, Virginia, a few miles outside of the nation's capital. At the meeting I met some folks that I knew from the New Year festivities, and encoutered some new people that came to listen to the leader of the first opposition political party of Cambodia, in his campaign to be candidate to the general election to be held in Cambodia on July 2008.
